An embodied journey into your purpose and power

Dance Your Purpose is hosted by Alison McCallum

“Draw on the wisdom of rhythm and movement to deepen connection with your purpose and power.”

Many of us are looking at a world in flames and asking ourselves: what is mine to do? This workshop is an exploration of your purpose and power in an embodied way, through movement. To support us in moving towards the future we envision, we tune into what our contributions are, and what it feels like to step into our power.

We hold a seed of the future within us, and so we invite our bodies and the magic of movement to expand, deepen and clarify our vision and sense of purpose. In this dance journey, we give ourselves permission to be moved by our bodies, towards answers that lie within us.

You’ll Experience:

  • A 2 hour workshop with a 60-minute immersive dance journey

  • A grounding journaling practice to reflect and integrate

  • Time to reconnect with your body, intuition, and inner truth

  • Access to a self-paced version of the experience afterward

Introducing Alison, your teacher and guide

As a facilitator, my passion is to create spaces and journeys in which we draw on the power of music, rhythm, movement and dance as an approach to understanding ourselves and making sense of our lives and the world around us. As the music starts, we invite the body to guide us as we engage with the questions we hold and the issues we are working with. We invite the music to dance us as we surrender to the ancient practice of allowing movement and rhythm as sense-making practices. These dance journeys are designed in response to current events and needs - whether it’s dancing our gratitude and joy despite the uncertainty of these times, dancing our relationship to aging and dying, or dancing to reconnect with the elements that shape our lives.

Always, our bodies have messages for us.

Hosting dance journeys brings together my many years of experience as a facilitator and trainer in organisational spaces, with my life long passion for dance. Three years ago it occurred to me that the very skills I have honed in designing and facilitating dialogue spaces are the same ones that I could apply to the curation of dance journeys - both work to enable connection with self, with others, and with universal themes and questions about what it means to be human.

Why Choose Dance Your Purpose?

Because some truths live in motion

This workshop offers something rare: a space where answers aren’t rushed or reasoned out, but felt. It’s an invitation to slow down, to let the music speak, and to trust that your body might already know the way.

Because your purpose wants to be felt, not just found

For thousands of years, people have danced to understand the world and themselves. This isn’t about steps or performance but about remembering that movement has always been a way to access what lives beyond words.

Because clarity doesn’t always come from thinking

If you’re feeling stuck, scattered, or on the edge of something new, this journey helps you move through the fog and into alignment. Not with a plan, but with presence, rhythm, and the power of your body.

This workshop is for you if you:

  • Feel disconnected from your sense of purpose or unsure what’s next

  • Tend to “think your way” through big questions and want a new approach

  • Crave spaciousness, expression, or embodiment

  • Want to feel more grounded, free, or powerful

  • Are curious about how dance can become a tool for clarity and confidence

  • Long to be surprised by what your body knows

Still Not Sure if This is for You?

Try this.
Choose your favourite piece of music, anything that moves you.
Find a private space.
Press play, turn it up, and close your eyes.

Now, instead of thinking about how to move…
Let the music dance you.
Not sure what that means? Imagine yourself as a child, who has no preconceptions of how he/she should dance.

That’s your invitation.

Notice:

  • Where does your body want to go?

  •  What part of you begins to soften, awaken, or stretch?

  •  How does it feel to let movement lead?

If something stirs in you, even a whisper of curiosity, Dance Your Purpose is your next step.

FAQs

Cutout of a rectangular, pale green paper with torn edges.

I don’t dance. Can I still come?

Yes! No experience is needed. You don’t need to “know how to dance” —this is about allowing the music to move you, not performing.

Do I need to have my camera on?

Whilst it would be great for the camera on to foster a sense of community and shared experience, if you need to turn it off to be able to experience this workshop then you can do so. Alternatively, you can dance with your eyes closed, as many people do, and anyways no one will be watching the screen as we are all focused on our own journey and movements.

Yes. Everyone who registers will receive a replay version to revisit or experience at your own pace.

Please reach out to inquire about scholarships. We aim to make this workshop accessible for everyone.
